II. i will only write with those over the age of eighteen.
this blog will contain triggering content such as, but not limited to, religious themes, blood, death, nihilism, skeletons, brutality, and sexual content. i will not be tagging the aforementioned triggers. by following me you agree to the content shown. any unlisted triggers will be appropriately tagged under ' ___ /'.
i am comfortable writing sexual content but will not do so with writers i am unfamiliar with.
III. i am a paragraph to novella writer. i don’t do one-liners, first meetings, or surface interactions. those threads will be ignored. i will also be iconless but you may use icons if you'd like!
IV. i am character development focused and plot-centered. i am here to build my character and their story. all things about my character and world are subject to change at any given time and without warning.
do not underestimate my character. they are undying and have felled hundreds of eldritch horrors. they are a murderous, nihilistic god-killer.
while i do follow the games closely, most of the story and history is left ambiguous, so i thread them together to what i believe is canon. all meta and connections are unique to me. i do not tolerate idea theft.
regarding crossovers - yes! the beauty of original characters is that i can crossover as i please.
V. i have a draft cap. it is set for ten-fifteen threads. if a thread is a dropped or discontinued i will open up opportunities with writers interested. i am also a slow replier.
VI. i am semi-exclusive by default. i keep my follow count low for a slow dash and because i like to read what my mutuals are writing!

the story of jokanaan,
— i [ ... ] claimed their strength so that I might step closer to fire …
in the age of the ancients they joined the war against the dragons and became the 'dragonkiller', and after began the age of fire.
in the age of fire jokanaan helped build oolacile and foster it's light magic. gwyn, far above in his kingdom of anor londo, saw mankind grow and feared them - so he placed a curse on them, a ring of fire, the darksign. then he gifted them a city at the end of the world - the ringed city. a place to lock mankind away. there, jokanaan followed halflight and became a ringed knight, protecting the goddess filianore.
after came the outbreak of the abyss and fire had begun to fade. what was gwyn's glorious age of fire became a creeping dark.
jokanaan's original homeland of oolacile had fallen. gwyn sent his servant, artorias, one the four knights, to quell the abyss, but he failed. jokanaan then subdued the corrupted god, citizens and manus. gwyn drowned new londo. the witch of izalith became corrupted, birthing demons in it's place and sinking her city, and nito quietly disappeared. gwyn's age of fire was waning. he travelled to the kiln of the first flame, sacrificing himself to prolong the age, starting the endless cycle of light and dark.
in the years that followed jokanaan came to be prisoner in the undead asylum. [ start, dark souls i. end, linked the fire. ]
they were too weak to link the fire. now they wander the world, a bearer of the undead curse, and eventually descend into the waves, scorched, weary, and nameless. [ start, dark souls ii. ]
here - they loved a woman in mirrah. they travelled the world, over fallen kingdoms and corpses. once more they slew gods: nashandra, a fragment of the dark, and aldia, scholar of the first sin. [ end, refuse the throne.
[ start, dark souls iii. ] they are unkindled now, one who failed to link the fire in ages past. they have been summoned once again to return the spurned lords to their thrones so the age of fire might continue. the world is tired. the fire has been linked time and time again in every age. the darkness is settling. it tastes, it grows, it consumes. time and space are distorted, lands pulled from all ages, people out of time, fragments and memories of things before. this is the end of the world. the converged world.
jokanaan wants the darkness. they ascend the kiln of the first flame and down the soul of cinder. as they approach the final bonfire, flames flickering, they take the flame for themselves, finally ushering in the age of dark gwyn feared. [ end, lord of hollows. ]
the world is theirs. gwyn's glorious age of fire is ended. fire is no more. jokanaan is the lord of hollows, resurrecting mankind. gods are no more. mankind reigns.
OTHER WORLDS,
a note regarding all verses: jokanaan is undead, but not all-powerful. they can be defeated but never die. they can be killed a hundred times and never die. to be undead is to be undying. this will apply to all verses.
MAIN VERSE,
jokanaan's main verse is set between dark souls 2 and dark souls 3.
after dark souls i jokanaan linked the fire, but wasn’t strong enough to foment another age akin to gwyn’s. they are a ludleth-like character in that they ‘willed themselves a lord’ to link the fire. jokanaan is, and by all definitions, a lord of cinder, but a lord with no age of their own. the lords we see in dark souls iii all had an age of their own; an age they could mould and shape because they linked the fire.
iudex gundyr failed his own age so ludleth had no choice but to throw himself into the fire, letting it flicker long enough for a true lord to come. he was the stick thrown into the fire waiting for the piece of wood to buoy the fire. jokanaan is the same. they believed they were deserving of the fire, but they ended up nameless and unremembered because they had no age of their own. by the beginning of dark souls ii, and because they failed, they can’t remember who they were before they fell into the sea.
by the end of dark souls ii they remember. they united the crowns of the fallen kings and the curse of want no longer affects them. they also refuse the throne because they learned from their mistake in dark souls i. there would be no reign of jokanaan because if they took the throne there wouldn’t be an age of their own.
so between refusing the throne at the end of dark souls ii and the bell
tolling at the beginning of dark souls iii, jokanaan is sleeped.
a ‘death’ of sorts to where only a bell tolling resurrects them from their grave to return the lords to their thrones. this is where i’m setting my main verse. i want to explore the in-between. jokanaan lived and breathed and wandered for all of time before dark souls i and after dark souls ii. the universe ordained them unkindled when a true lord refused to link the fire. they became an entity that rises every time, every age, every place when the linking of fire is threatened. if gwyn fathered the age of fire, jokanaan is the entity that drags people screaming into the fire. jokanaan is the entity that pursues the betrayers, the ash that seeketh the embers.
by dark souls iii the fire has faded so much that not even a true lord is enough to link it. more lord souls are needed to ignite a true age, so when the bell calls for them they’ve had enough. eons ago the fire refused them, told them they weren’t good enough to become a lord of cinder. so they took the fire for themselves and ushered in an age of dark.
this is how they get an age of their own.
jokanaan is what doomed iudex gundyr’s age. jokanaan is ludleth’s mirror, and the vision their firekeeper saw: scenes of betrayal, things never intended her ken, visions of ... this age’s end ...
my main verse being set between dark souls ii and iii builds up the mantle of becoming unkindled and the relentless pursuer of fire.
LORD OF THE RINGS,
jokanaan is a dúnedain who has wandered eä since time immemorial. they remember when the first men awoke under illúvatar, and the elves arriving to middle-earth. they remember the first age and all ages following.
they are a wandering creature, often passing through various realms quietly. the elves are aware of them, but do not enlist in their help in war. jokanaan prefers to watch from afar, only arriving when the battle is finished to pick apart corpses for material things. what happens in middle-earth is of little concern to the undying warrior.
THE 100,
a clanless frikdreina, cast out early in the reign of heda maffei kom boudalan for their rotting skin and left to die in the wastes.
they are a grounder killer, killing any who cross into self-proclaimed territory on the outskirts of the boudalan clan. they are often hidden in the mountains, the rocks and able to kill trespassers silently.
during sheidheda's reign he brought them to polis and jokanaan grew in power, became fearsome under the terrible rule. when he passed and the flame passed to lexa, acquised to her ways but never fully. they still killed trespassers in their land, but befriended a trigedakru person, niylah kom trigedakru. they will not hurt niylah or her people, but jokanaan's loyalty is still to themselves.
STAR WARS,
jokanaan remembers a time before jedis and sith existed, before there was a galactic or seperatist empire, before there was light and darkness in the force.
they live alone on morabund, only venturing out of the wasteland when they're seeking souls, people to kill. they are considered 'dark side' by the seperatist and simultaneously not by the jedi order. they are grey. they can pass peacefully through unsuspecting worlds and help citizens, and likewise, intentionally help the sith with their agenda.
the jedi order has not declared jokanaan an enemy of the republic due to them helping their friend, senator riyo chuchi in the siege of pantora.
their lightsaber is red.
